You might be able to smell it if it's strong or the air conditioning is on. Also if the doors are open, that'll smell too. It won't smell that bad unless you leave the cap off for a long time.

I can smell that polish smell all over the house. I paint in the bathroom with the door shut and the fan on and it still smells all over. Sometimes in the summer I paint my nails outside to keep from stinking up the house.
Depends on how big the house is. When I was a teenager and living at home, my dad could smell it from the living room with me being in my room mainly because it gave him a headache.
