What kind of cancer effects the toenails making bruising? My doctor is concerned it could be cancer.

I just went into remission from lung cancer, so I have a history of cancer to begin with, because of that my doctor is sending me to a Specialist about 120 miles away from here. Leukemia, though there are FOUR different kinds; acute, myloid, chronic, non-myloid. And in each of THOSE they are broken down into further groups.

I would love to help but I think the person who has the answers is your doctor. I don't understand sometimes how they can be so evasive about people's diagnosis and treatment. It's as if they assume the patient knows what's going on. If I were in your shoes you can bet I'd be on the phone asking questions. It's your body, it's your life, and he should have told you what the specialist is looking for. What kind of specialist is it? Oncologist?
Cancer in the toenails, never heard of it. I get bruising under my toenails, it comes from fungii. I have had it for years the treatment is more dangerous than the fungii. Don't worry about it, but get it checked out anyway.

believe it or not skin cancer can accur under toe and finger nails
I don't think it would be cancer... you probably have a nail infection.
why didn't you ask the Dr....this is Yahoo...I doubt there are many if ANY Dr's on here that can see you through the computer to help you..
