Is painting a cats toenails bad for them?

Yes, Bad.

Also, yeah right, like you could get a cat to sit still long enough to paint more than one toe! lol

Plus, the claw just gets retracted back, so you don't even see the polish, and the polish just gets all over the cat's fur, which it then proceeds to lick off, and, well, would YOU drink nail polish?

My dad's actually convinced that since my mom bit her nails and she always had them polished that that's the reason why she had breast cancer.

I say he's a nut case, but you never know!Is painting a cats toenails bad for them?

Actually you can buy polish specially formulated for cats at groomers. Don't use the kind that is made for humans. Remember cats do bite and chew on their claws and can ingest pieces of the polish and it could be harmful.

So ';cat polish'; is not bad for them, but cats are inherently beautiful and there is no need for us to ';decorate'; them.

good luck!
I would side on yes because cats are very clean and will try to lick it off resulting in poisoning.
